1. Describe the stasis in the play: where, when, who, what, etc. in a paragraph.

The play on stage is set to be the living room of an old house between Trenton and Princeton New Jersey. The play is intended to be set for the present during September. Our two main characters, Marjorie, Terry, Patricia, and Raul, face off in a psychological battle that would eventually turn deadly. Raul is a Latino stranger who has been stocking Marjorie and had the intention to rape her, and Marjorie has the fight of her life protecting her life with the help of her roommates.


2. What is the intrusion?

The intrusion in the play is when Raul walks in the house uninvited which leads to us finding out his intention.

3. What is the unique factor?

The unique factor is that one of the roommates was raped and she shared her story about it.



4. What is the dramatic question that should be answered by the end of the play?

Will Marjorie kill Raul for his attempted rape or turn him into the police?


5. Provide an illustration of the two kinds of exposition that the play has in it.

One exposition is when Raul reveals that his attack was premeditated and he had acquired information without Marjorie knowing. The other exposition is when we learn about Patricia’s previous rape experience.


6. Identify the most theatrical moment in the play and of what importance it seems to be.

The most theatrical moment in the play happens at the beginning of the play when Marjorie and Raul get physical. It brings a visceral response.


7. List some of the themes of the play.

Violence, abuse, mistrust, and vengeance.

8. What do the principal characters want and what are some obstacles that stand in the way of them getting what they want?

Marjorie wants to eliminate Raul as a threat. She finds this task to be difficult to prove to a court due to the lack of evidence and witnesses, leading her to make the decision to want to end his life.


9. Describe some possible images in the play and how does the title help us understand the play.

The biggest image that was referred to throughout the play is the wasp. At the beginning of the play, Marjorie was stung by a wasp. The way she killed the wasp was exactly how she treated Raul. Raul’s actions related to the wasp in many ways.



10. Briefly, define the family relationships that are examined in the play.

As roommates, one expects to have similarities in interests. In this play, we saw that this relationship was challenged when the fate of Raul lied on the hands of ladies with different personalities and experiences. Their relationships encountered problems which later resolved when they all came to a similar conclusion.
